You can easily assign Tags to multiple records at once by using the Bulk Edit feature. It's as simple as selecting the records and choosing the Tag to apply. Follow the steps below for a complete walk through.
Note: Only Account Owners and Managers can perform this batch Tag assignment. If you do not see this option in your system, ask your Account Owner or Manager to complete this task for you, or to promote your account to the Manager permission level.
You'll find this feature under Companies, Licenses, or Contacts. You can also use it on any existing Saved List.
Once on the Browse List or Saved List, you'll notice check boxes next to each row. Check those that you'd like to assign the Tag to - as soon as you select one, you'll see new options at the top of the column.
Alternatively, you can check the box in the header row to select all records on your list. You can even further filter your Tags to all the records currently visible using the arrow menu to the right of the checkbox. This is a powerful tool with a lot of configurations to help you edit just the records that meet your criteria!
Once you've selected the records you'd like to assign the tag to, you'll use the Tag icon on the right to browse Tags available to add to the selected records. Scroll through the list, or type the name of the Tag you're looking for in the search field at the top of the selection list.
Be aware that you can use the Bulk Edit feature to add or remove tags. The Hyphen Icon next to the Opened, Clicked, and Contacted Tags in the above screenshot indicates that some of the selected records already have that tag applied. Checking the box next to them a single time will display a Red X icon, meaning the Tag will be removed from the selected records. Checking the box twice will display a Green Check, meaning all selected records will be given that tag. Leaving the box unselected with the Hyphen Icon shown will retain the Tag, and not make any changes to that Tag's assignments.
Note: Be very careful removing the system auto-assigned tags referenced above (Contacted, Opened, Clicked). We do not recommend this, and do not have a way to restore them if you remove them.
To assign a new tag to all of the selected records, check the box next to it. Note that you may select more than one if you'd like to assign multiple tags to all these records at once. In our example below, we are assigning the tag "Customer" to our selected records. This may be helpful when you first begin using Cannabiz Media, as you'll probably want to tag your existing customers to filter them out of receiving your Email Campaigns.
After making your Tag selections, click Apply at the bottom of the list.
You'll be asked to confirm your intent to make these Tag assignments by asking for a quick comment. Give us a summary of why you're making this batch edit, and then click OK.
The Batch Assignment will then process. You'll get an alert in the upper right hand corner of the system, letting you know the changes are queued and will be completed shortly.
Note: The process could take up to 15 minutes to complete, depending on the quantity of records on your list. You are free to work in other areas of the system the update processes.
